Partnerships
Family Gateway is fortunate to have an active collaboration with like-minded local organizations. Executive Director Jan Mitura is past chair of the Continuum of Care Committee of the Metro Dallas Homeless Alliance, which seeks to eliminate homelessness through a community-wide partnership.
Following is a list of organizations with whom Family Gateway routinely partners:
Vogel Alcove Childcare Center for the Homeless
The Vogel Alcove provides day care for the pre-school children residing at Family Gateway and Gateway Apartments.
HOMES
Parkland Hospital’s Homeless Outreach Medical Services provides mobile medical services to residents.
Texas A & M
Texas A&M Extension Services offers nutrition and health classes.
Interfaith Housing Coalition
Interfaith Housing Coalition provides transitional housing and refers clients to, and accepts referrals from, Family Gateway.
Shared Housing Center, Inc.
Shared Housing provides transitional housing and refers clients to, and accepts referrals from, Family Gateway.
The Family Place
The Family Place offers group counseling to adults in residence at Family Gateway.
Dallas Independent School District
Dallas Independent School District provides counseling for children in need and leads parenting classes.
Rainbow Days, Inc.
Rainbow Days offers substance abuse prevention counseling to parents and children.
The Wilkinson Center
The Wilkinson Center offers GED classes as well as extended employment services for adults who have completed our vocational classes.
