Rapid Re-housing
Family Gateway is serving families who have lost their homes in a new way by administering federal funding available to provide temporary housing assistance.
To ensure the funding is used wisely, families must meet certain requirements and agree to a plan that includes education, employment, housing and savings goals. Family Gateway staff creates this plan in partnership with families and monitors their progress.
Funding Purpose:
To provide financial assistance to families experiencing homelessness by providing deposits, rental assistance and utility payment assistance.
Eligibility:
Rapid re-housing funds assist families at or below 50% of the median area income who are working, employable or going to school but have lost their homes. Funding is temporary, and emphasis is placed on returning to self-sufficiency through a personalized plan for success.
Duration:
Funding lasts for 3 months – 18 months. Funding requests are reviewed every 3 months. Families who are making progress toward the self-sufficiency goals outlined in their plan are eligible for continued funding.
