Strengthening the family unit is critical to the long-term success of our client families, offering each member comfort, security and stability. Members of a homeless family must regain their dignity and control over their lives. Family Gateway provides the tools and assistance necessary to succeed through regular, informed and professional intervention. The myriad of problems that accompany families who come to Family Gateway require the type of specialized service that is provided by our family case managers. Upon entering Family Gateway's program, the parents meet immediately with a case manager to develop a plan of action that the family will follow. The needs of the adults and the children are assessed, and together they develop a well-framed plan with realistic objectives.

Uniting Families

Family Gateway emphasizes the importance of keeping families together, and solving the problems of homelessness together. During their residence, families participate in a number of programs designed to restore dignity and strengthen the family as a whole. They come together for mealtimes, play time, nightly classes, and even share special treats like Movie Night.

When families need a private place to spend some quality time together in a relaxing environment, they can enjoy our “Bright Spaces,” created by JP Morgan Chase as part of the Bright Horizons program.
